Johnny Stout

After almost a lifetime of being a knife lover and user, both as a sportsman and novice repairman, I began making knives in 1983, and became a full time Bladesmith in 1992. Using ancient, as well as state of the art materials, I offer most fixed blade designs, as well as folding knives with various locking mechanisms, to include locking liner and automatics, in traditional, and my specialty, dress Gents' folders.

Many of my knives are one of a kind, and will not be duplicated. Each knife is constructed, by me, entirely in my shop. Each is made from a variety of steels: carbon, stainless, and my own pattern welded Damascus, as well as several other makers specialty Damascus. My blades are either forged, or ground from raw bar stock using the stock removal method.

For interested makers, I teach personal knifemaking classes, as well as host a Hammer-In/Knifemaker Rendezvous, twice a year, at my shop in New Braunfels, Texas.
