Dale Reif
I started making knives in 1996. I'm a self-taught maker, taking advice from other makers and purveyors. Most of the knives I make are folders, but I do make fixed blades on request. The materials I use include damascus and mosaic damascus from top makers, along with ATS-34 and D-2. Handle materials include ivory, pearl, coral, and bone. I do make tacticals with bead blasted or satin finished blades and G-10, carbon fiber, or micarta scales with a pocket clip. All my knives are made in my shop with no jigs. Most of the knives I make are one of a kind. The majority of the folders I make are dress folders. At this point, knife making is a part-time job.
