Geoff Hague trained as an architect and after more than twenty years in this field, he decided to start his knifemaking business in 1993 to fulfil a long held ambition. He now uses his design ability and attention to detail to produce high quality, functional and aesthetically pleasing cutting tools, for the practical user and collector alike.
Geoff works on his own in a small workshop. The work is executed by hand and eye using simple tools and equipment to achieve a high standard of craftsmanship and fine tolerances in the construction of each knife. He starts with pieces of metal and squares or burrs of exotic hardwoods, pieces of antler, horn or sheets of man-made materials. Geoff then transforms these separate materials into fine cutting tools, He has established a reputation for combining flowing form, and high quality materials into pleasing and tactile knives which are used and collected in Europe, America, Africa and as far away as New Zealand and Australia.
