My name is Rob Davidson and I am the sole owner and proprietor of my one-man shop, also known as Rocket Knives. I started making knives as a hobby in 1978 and began working at it full time in 1982. I have always been good at working with my hands and don't really consider knifemaking as a job. I can't think of anything that I would rather do.
I do my best to make the best product that I possibly can and I make every piece of every knife myself. I am a big believer in sole authorship. I learned to make knives when the CNC machine didn't exist in the custom knife business and vow to never use one. Each piece is made individually by my hand. I have always prided myself in my customer service and try to please everyone that purchases my knives.
I very rarely have any inventory for immediate sale and I haven't been able to make any shows in over nine years. All pieces are custom made for each individual that orders it. I make just about anything that can be dreamed of from the smallest of miniatures to full-size katanas and broadswords. I use a wide variety of steels, but generally use ATS 34 as a standard steel. Most any handle material is used and is available. All knives are hand-finished with the customers individual preference of finishes.
