Robert Bordeaux

I have been interested in knives since I was a kid and have been making
knives for a few years now.
I was born and raised in the
Green Mountains of Vermont and have been hunting since I was old enough
to
keep up with my Father in the woods.
I spend many hours in the outdoors between
fly fishing during the summer and hunting in the fall.
I started out getting blades from different suppliers and doing the furniture work on them. A few
years ago
I bought a video on how to forge blades by Frank Garland. Since that
time I have been hand forging all
of my blades using mainly old coil springs
from cars or trucks. I now use new 52100 round stock that I get
from Admiral
Steel..
I forge each blade to shape then clean and grind the blade to final shape. Next
I heat treat and hand sand
the blade before I fit them for their handle.
For the last 21 years my full time occupation has been as a nurse.
Each of the knives below are forged from 52100 steel and fitted with an antler handle. I also make my own knife sheaths
I sell many of my knives and also trade them for more handle materials like wood or antlers.
